The Mahanna Trace - Part I

I am on the ever elusive hunt to discover more about my Mahanna ancestors. When I first delved into genealogy in 1987 my Mother knew very little about her father's side of the family. Always the mystery, few stories emerged about Donald O. Mahanna and his siblings, parents, and beyond.

I was so challenged that I started a genealogy newsletter, back in the days when we gathered names, asked for payment with checks, designed our newsletter in "PageMaker", printed out and folded copies and mailed them to the other members of the extended clan. My mother and father helped with this project which we dubbed "The Mahanna Trace".

Publishing this quarterly newsletter for several years led me to meet cousins, including in person with a few, and only served to widen my appetite to determine who was our first Mahanna to come to America and where from?

As time has gone by many revelations have emerged and I will chronicle them here on my new blog - Tell My Family Story.
